Mitchell Stankovic Partnering With Open Banking Solutions as Part of CUSS Initiative

BOULDER CITY, Nev.— Mitchell, Stankovic & Associates (MSA) said it has entered into a strategic partnership with Open Banking Solutions (OBS), a cloud‑native core provider that delivers “modern, composable technology to credit unions of all sizes.”

“The partnership brings together two organizations with a shared mission: strengthening the long‑term sustainability of credit unions through innovation, collaboration, and practical, scalable solutions,” the company said. “The OBS core platform supports small and mid-sized credit unions and is a key part of the Credit Union Shared Services technology pillar.”

In addition to deepening strategic alignment, Mitchell Stankovic said the partnership gives credit unions access to a modern, cloud‑native core they can finally evaluate without the cost, complexity, or disruption that has historically slowed transformation.

‘Practical Path’

“OBS’s composable architecture offers a practical path to modernization—reducing operating expenses, improving efficiency, and accelerating growth by freeing credit unions from legacy constraints,” the company stated.

It added that for small and mid‑sized institutions in particular, this partnership creates a clear, affordable on‑ramp to the kind of technology that strengthens competitiveness and long‑term sustainability.

“Legacy systems are holding credit unions back,” said Susan Mitchell, CEO and principal of Mitchell, Stankovic & Associates. “OBS brings the flexibility, transparency, and modern architecture our industry needs. Together, we are building a pathway that empowers credit unions to thrive—not just survive—in a rapidly changing financial landscape.”

‘Year-Round Access’

MSA said that as part of the partnership, OBS will gain year‑round access to the Underground platform, including thought leadership opportunities, strategic visibility, and direct engagement with decisionmakers across the movement. MSA said it will support OBS with integrated messaging, market positioning, and strategic outreach to accelerate awareness and adoption.

“We are excited to partner with MSA, an organization that has shaped credit union leadership and strategy for decades,” Joe Lockwood, CEO of Open Banking Solutions, said in a statement. “This collaboration strengthens our ability to deliver modern, cloud‑native technology to credit unions that need it most.”

D.C. Debut

The partnership will be formally introduced at the Underground Events at GAC in Washington, DC, where leaders from across the industry will gather to explore the future of cooperative finance. Louis Hernandez, Jr., Founder & CEO of Black Dragon, the lead investor in OBS, will kick off the event with an interview and  the OBS team will share more in the CUSS Showcase immediately following.
