VICKSBURG, Miss.– Mutual Federal Credit Union said it has selected Velera to provide it with debit and credit card processing services and support.
Founded in 1931 as the Federal Credit Union of Vicksburg, Mutual CU is Mississippi’s oldest credit union and, as the fourth credit union in the U.S. to offer online account services, an early pioneer of digital innovation, according to the company. The $490-million Mutual FCU has more than 42,000 members.
In selecting a debit and credit processing provider, Mutual CU said it was seeking a dependable partner with a proven track record of working with its core and home banking systems. The credit union ultimately selected Velera, citing the organization’s competitive market position and recommendations from existing Velera clients.
“We chose Velera for its strong integration capabilities and shared commitment to exceptional service,” Mutual FCU CEO Michael Mathews said in a statement. “Together, we have the right team to modernize Mutual CU’s card programs and ensure they keep pace with members’ needs.”
Velera will begin providing debit and credit card processing support to Mutual CU in summer 2027.
