BATON ROUGE, La.— Neighbors Federal Credit Union kicked off the season of giving with its 10th Annual Neighbors Day, with hundreds of employees participating.
According to the credit union, this year more than 200 employees participated in the day of service to give back to the Greater Baton Rouge Area by volunteering at local nonprofits. They spent time working on beautification projects, community cleanups, and hands-on support for local nonprofits serving families, veterans, and those in need, NFCU said.

‘Tons & Tons of Toys’
“We’re wrapping gifts for kids all over the Baton Rouge area,” Kim Chapman, NFCU’s financial wellness director said in a statement. “There are tons and tons of toys that people donate. And, so, our volunteers are here in preparation of the holidays wrapping those gifts.
The 200-plus Neighbors Federal employees spent about half of the day volunteering, contributing more than 1,000 hours of service. Neighbors Day began after the Great Flood of 2016 and has grown into one of the credit union’s largest community efforts, the credit union added.
