WASHINGTON–Credit unions in two states have announced new leadership.
In Washington, the $72-million EP Federal Credit Union has announced a planned leadership transition is now official. Ron Schneeberger has retired as president and CEO and Steve Camp has been named as his successor. Winston Godwin has also been named COO.

“EPFCU is fortunate to have two talented and capable leaders, Steve Camp and Winston Godwin, stepping up at this time,” Chairman Greg Boutin said in a statement. “Both have demonstrated the experience and leadership skills needed to guide EPFCU forward, ensuring our members can continue to count on great service and the continued safety and security of their funds.”
Camp joined EPFCU in 2022 as director of membership experience and was EVP Vice President/COO. He has almost 40 years of credit union experience, having held several leadership roles before joining EPFCU, including AVP of branch operations at Tower Federal Credit Union.
Since coming on board, he has played a key role in enhancing member experience, strengthening operational execution, and developing frontline leadership, the credit union said.
New CEO in North Carolina
Separately, in Boone, N.C., Paul Penland has been named president and chief executive officer of Appalachian Community Federal Credit Union, succeeding Andrew Mullins.

Penland brings extensive experience in credit union leadership, with a background that includes executive management, lending and community-focused financial services, the $181 million ACFCU said. The board cited his operational expertise and commitment to the credit union mission as key factors in the appointment.
“Paul’s leadership style and understanding of cooperative finance position him well to guide the credit union through its next chapter,” the credit union said in a statement. “He shares our focus on serving members while maintaining strong financial performance.”
‘Honored to be Selected’
“I’m honored to be selected to lead Appalachian Community Federal Credit Union,” Penland said in a statement. “This organization has a strong legacy of service, and I look forward to working with the team to continue meeting the evolving needs of our members and communities.”
