FRESNO, Calif.–A security guard at a branch of Golden 1 Credit Union was stabbed here.
Officers responded to a disturbance at 1:35 p.m. at the branch on East Shaw Avenue at Effie Street near Highway 41, where the guard was injured while attempting to intervene in a family dispute, the Fresno Bee reported.

According to the Bee, police said the initial call reported an argument between a woman and her adult sons. At the scene, officers were told that one of the men was cutting himself during the altercation.
Suspect at Large
“Shortly afterward, police received an update that a security guard at the bank had been stabbed. Investigators say the guard stepped in to break up the confrontation when one of the individuals allegedly used a pocket knife to attack him,” the Bee reported. “The guard sustained what authorities described as a superficial injury to his back and was transported to a local hospital for treatment, police said.”
The suspect remains at large, and police have not released a description., the Bee reported. The credit union was closed as officers continued their investigation.
