LAS VEGAS–Silver State Schools Credit Union (SSSCU) has presented a brand new 2025 Kia K4 to Kelly Dodder, an eighth-grade math teacher at Jack and Terry Mannion Middle School, as part of SSSCU’s Annual Teacher Car Giveaway.
The credit union said the initiative celebrates outstanding educators for their commitment to students, and was conducted in partnership with Towbin Kia.
“This is probably one of the best things that has ever happened,” said Dodder in a statement.

For many years, Silver State Schools Credit Union reported it has partnered with a Southern Nevada auto dealership to award a new vehicle to an educator in need. This year, SSSCU said it continued its longstanding tradition of supporting a deserving teacher alongside Towbin Kia and the Clark County School District.
Teachers were nominated based on how they “engage and support students in the classroom and in extracurricular activities, and also importantly, how each teacher has overcome personal challenges or hardships to continue serving their students.”
‘We Value Educators’
“We value our educators because of the positive influence they have on our students and community at large,” President/CEO Scott Arkills said in a statement. “This is meant to uplift someone who is navigating their way through a recent painful loss. Thanks to a joint effort between Silver State Schools Credit Union and Towbin Kia, Ms. Dodder was given support through the gift of a new vehicle. Mr. Josh Towbin was an excellent business partner in the 2025 Teacher Car Giveaway with SSSCU.”
“To be recognized for something you do every day, that you love, is awesome.” Dodder said in a statement.
