Something Different: A CU Board Election That’s High Profile

FULTON, N.Y.–Credit union board elections are often low-key events unknown to the vast majority of members. So, when a credit union’s board elections are highlighted in local media, it’s worth a mention.

Oswego County Today included coverage of Compass CU’s annual meeting, which is scheduled for May 8 at it Fulton, N.Y. branch. The report noted “final votes will be tallied” during the meeting to fill four vacant seats on the $89.2-million Compass CU’s board.

The report includes a listing of both the incumbents as well as the first-time nominees for board seats.

It further notes that “voting will be open at the credit union’s two main locations in the days prior to the meeting,” and then lists those two locations.

The report then goes on to provide more information on each of the candidates, and includes details on which each candidate would like to do as a member of the board.

Compass has approximately 8,100 members.
