Todd Fanning Named CFO by Chartway Credit Union

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va.– Chartway Credit Union has named Todd Fanning as its new CFO. 

Fanning brings more than 30 years of experience in financial management and executive leadership across the banking and credit union sectors, with a proven track record of driving strategic growth and building high-performing teams.

As CFO, Fanning will serve as a key advisor to the CEO and executive team, overseeing Chartway’s finance and accounting teams, with a focus on driving financial strength, operational efficiency, and sustainable growth. He will play a critical role in shaping the credit union’s financial strategy, ensuring operational excellence, and identifying opportunities for sustainable growth.

Before joining Chartway, Fanning held multiple leadership roles at GreenState Credit Union, including executive vice president, CFO, and interim CEO. 

Under his financial leadership, GreenState grew from $1.6 billion to over $11 billion in assets, completed multiple successful acquisitions, and was recognized as a “Best Place to Work in Iowa” for 10 consecutive years.

Fanning holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Illinois State University, is a Certified Public Accountant through the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and is a graduate of the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, widely recognized as the nation’s leading and most progressive banking school. He also served on numerous community boards and is deeply committed to public service.
