MIRAMAR, Fla. – Tropical Financial Credit Union has promoted Marylen Yiris to Vice President of Brand & People. She previously served as Vice President of Marketing but will now oversee human resources as part of her expanded executive duties.

Yiris, who is celebrating 30 years with Tropical Financial this year, has spent most of her career advancing the organization’s marketing, member experience, and brand operations. She has played a key role in shaping marketing strategy, supporting digital banking initiatives, and enhancing the overall member experience.

Her new responsibilities reflect the credit union’s integrated approach to aligning brand values with its people-first culture.

“Marylen has demonstrated consistent leadership, strategic vision, and deep commitment throughout her three decades at Tropical Financial,” said Rick Shaw, President and CEO of Tropical Financial Credit Union. “Her expertise in member experience and brand development, combined with her understanding of our organizational culture, makes her uniquely qualified to lead both our brand and people strategies.”

Yiris joined Tropical Financial in 1996 as a teller before transitioning into marketing and member relations, serving as Marketing Coordinator, Marketing Manager and Member Experience Director. She was promoted to Vice President of Marketing in March 2025 before assuming her new role.

Yiris serves on the Tropical Financial Community Action Team, which directs employee fundraising, and has been actively involved in industry and community initiatives, including long-standing service as a board member of the League of Southeastern Credit Union and Affiliates.

She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and International Business from Florida International University.
