PARSIPPANY, N.J.–Union Building Trades Federal Credit Union (UBTFCU) has selected a new CEO to succeed the retiring Robert Kodan, who will step down on Dec. 31.
The $84-million credit union has selected Daniel Czerniawski to lead the organization effective Jan. 1, 2026. Czerniawski joins UBTFCU with more than 25 years of experience in the banking and credit union industry, having most recently served as an account executive at Quilo Solutions.
Prior experience includes roles as the president and CEO of Actors Federal Credit Union, where he oversaw strategic growth and modernization initiatives for a membership base of entertainment professionals. Additionally, he has held senior roles at The Atlantic Federal Credit Union, including as COO and chief lending officer, where he led cultural and technological transformations, according to the credit union.

Educational Background
Czerniawski earned his Executive MBA from the New Jersey Institute of Technology and holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing from the University of Scranton. His expertise spans strategic planning and development, consumer and commercial lending, portfolio management, and organizational leadership, UBTFCU said.
In addition, he serves on advisory boards and nonprofit organizations, including La Casa de Don Pedro and The Poland Lacrosse Foundation, demonstrating his commitment to community engagement and financial empowerment.

Kodan Praised for Service
The credit union said that under Kodan’s leadership, UBTFCU expanded its membership base, guided the credit union through day-to-day operations, and supported the continued service of our members.

Kodan has served as CEO of UBTFCU since 2005, leading the organization for 20 years. A graduate of Rutgers University, Kodan began his career in banking before joining UBTFCU. Kodan has also been active in community service, volunteering with organizations such as CASA of Union County, reflecting his lifelong commitment to helping families thrive.
