MADISON, Wis.—The World Council of Credit Unions (WOCCU) is pleased has promoted Christi Swoboda to vice president of meetings and events. Swoboda has been a dedicated leader within the organization since 2014, and most recently serving as director of international meetings and events, WOCCU said.

In her new role, Swoboda will continue to lead the strategic vision, global growth and operational excellence of WOCCU’s meetings and events portfolio, including the prestigious World Credit Union Conference (WCUC), the organization said. As vice president, she will further strengthen World Council’s position as the convener of the global credit union movement, driving innovation, partnerships and impactful experiences that advance the industry worldwide.
“Throughout her tenure, Swoboda has been instrumental in elevating WCUC, widely regarded as the premier international credit union event,” WOCCU stated. “Hosted in a different country each July, the conference attracts thousands of credit union professionals from around the world to build connections, explore emerging trends and foster lasting partnerships. Under her leadership, WCUC has continued to evolve as a dynamic four-day program featuring world-class general sessions, more than 40 breakout sessions, networking forums, credit union site visits, an exhibit hall of solution providers and curated engagement opportunities.”
Swoboda also spearheaded the strategic development and implementation of World Council’s virtual event platform in 2020, expanding access to education and networking for credit unions globally. The platform continues to grow, complementing in-person experiences and extending World Council’s global reach.
