Woman Arrested for Fraud While Still Inside Branch

AMERICAN CANYON, Calif.–A woman was arrested for identity theft charges inside a credit union branch here. 

According to American Canyon police, the women allegedly attempted to use a fraudulent Social Security card at a branch of Redwood Credit Union, where employees reported a fraud in progress. Arriving officers contacted the suspect, identified as Tamia Young, and learned that she was on probation in Santa Clara County, according to KRON.

“Young, a Vallejo resident, had allegedly used the fake Social Security information to open four credit card accounts, police said,” KRON reported. 
“According to authorities, the four accounts had racked up nearly $16,000 in fraudulent purchases.”

Another woman accompanying Young at the credit union, identified by police as Endya Patteway of Union City, had an outstanding warrant out of Contra Costa County, the KRON report added.
