$20K in Scholarships Awarded by Veridian CU

WATERLOO, Iowa – Veridian Credit Union has awarded $20,000 in scholarships to eight students across Iowa and Nebraska for the 2026-2027 academic year. Scholarships of $2,500 each were awarded to Veridian members in two categories, including high school and post-high school.

“There’s no better investment we could make in the future of our communities than in our youth,” said Veridian President and CEO Renee Christoffer. “We’re proud to support these students and wish them all the best as they build the future they envision.”

Veridian’s 2026 scholarship recipients in the high school category include:

·      Brynn Bakula, of Cedar Falls High School in Cedar Falls, Iowa, to attend the University of Northern Iowa

·      Harrison Burkhardt, of Johnston High School in Johnston, Iowa, to attend Duke University

·      Emily Fangman, of Columbus Catholic High School in Waterloo, Iowa, to attend Iowa State University

·      Lexie Nelson, of Abraham Lincoln High School in Council Bluffs, Iowa, to attend the University of Iowa

Veridian’s 2026 scholarship recipients in the post-high school category include:

·      Sawyer Gramlich, of Lansing, Iowa, to attend Wartburg College

·      HaleyStar Honeck, of Ankeny, Iowa, to attend Grand View University

·      Riddhi Munjewar, of Omaha, Nebraska, to attend the University of Nebraska – Lincoln

·      Grace Roth, of Cedar Falls, Iowa, to attend the University of Northern Iowa

To apply, students wrote an essay about a personal experience where a cooperative effort helped them achieve a goal, and how it influences their perspective on financial success. Veridian scholarships were administered in partnership with the Iowa Credit Union Foundation.

The ICUF also recently awarded Warren A. Morrow Memorial Scholarships to three Veridian members, including Wyatt Fettkether of Dunkerton, Sabrina Rodriguez of West Des Moines and Destiny Stokes of Des Moines.

Veridian awards $2,500 scholarships to eight students pursuing post-secondary education at an accredited vocational, undergraduate or graduate program each year.
