GRAND BLANC, Mich.–With an investigation still underway, Grand Blanc police have partnered with ELGA Credit Union to create a Victim Compensation Fund called “Grand Blanc Strong” for victims of the mass shooting at a Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints here.
Four people were killed, not including the 40-year-old suspect, who was also killed by police. Eight others were injured.
All of ELGA’s 16 Genesee County branches are accepting donations for the fund.
Police are also warning residents to beware of scam fundraiser pages that often pop up after mass shootings.
The township said it is also working to create an official fund and arrange a vigil for the community.
