MELBOURNE, Fla.–Credit unions continue expanding into Orlando from both the east and west coasts of Florida.
Space Coast Credit Union said it has expanded west and opened its first-ever Orlando branch in Waterford Lakes with a ribbon cutting ceremony in partnership with the East Orlando Chamber of Commerce, a $25,000 check presentation to the American Red Cross, and a “morning of community connection, giveaways and local tastes.”

More Branches Coming
“This marks the first of more SCCU branches planned in the Central Florida region,” the credit union said.
“Opening our Waterford Lakes branch is an exciting milestone in our continued growth in Central Florida,” Chief Strategy and Growth Officer Gary Prager said in a statemen. “We’re bringing SCCU’s trusted services closer to our Orlando members and welcoming new members into our cooperative. This branch reflects our commitment to delivering personalized financial guidance, exceptional service and a strong presence in the communities we serve.”
As the CU Daily reported here earlier, Tampa-based USFFCU said it is also expanding east into the Orlando area. And Michigan-based DFCU Financial has also just completed an acquisition of a bank in central Florida, as the CU Daily reports separately.
