EAST LANSING, Mich. — MSU Federal Credit Union (MSUFCU) has received two national awards for its creative excellence and outstanding results in marketing and public relations.

The MAC Awards have been recognizing outstanding credit union marketing achievements since 1986 and are hosted annually by the Marketing Association of Credit Unions, a group of credit union marketing professionals who help each other thrive, advance, and succeed. There were more than 400 entries by credit unions across the country for the 2025 awards.
In 2024, the credit union launched a multi-channel Out-of-Home advertising campaign in Chicago titled “Bank with a Credit Union,” introducing MSUFCU to Chicago in a bold way. It included transit station takeovers, bus wraps, pop-up events, and a citywide passport program designed to engage residents, commuters, and professionals.
This campaign reached more than 105 million impressions and led to new memberships, an increase in deposits, and an unforgettable first impression in a competitive market.
The “Bank with a Credit Union” campaign earned a MAC Gold Award.
Also in 2024, MSUFCU launched its Women of Sparta public relations campaign, spotlighting Michigan State University’s incredible female student-athletes and empowering them with leadership, financial confidence, and NIL opportunities that go beyond the game. This campaign generated nationwide media coverage across outlets like AP News, Yahoo! Finance, and Fox News, reaching an audience of more than 230 million people.
The Women of Sparta public relations campaign earned a MAC Silver Award.
“It’s an honor to see our team’s creativity and strategy recognized,” said Ami Iceman Haueter, MSUFCU’s chief experience officer. “We’re passionate about connecting with our members and community in meaningful ways — and about pushing the boundaries of what financial marketing can be.”
