WASHINGTON–PAHO/WHO Federal Credit Union CFO/COO Derek Fuzzell has been appointed by the City Council of Fairfax to serve as a member of the College Board for Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA).

The College Board is dedicated to ensuring every student succeeds, every program achieves, and every community prospers.
“I am honored to be appointed to the NOVA College Board and look forward to serving,” said Fuzell. “NOVA is a major part of the lifeblood of Northern Virginia, providing quality education for those working on an associate’s degree, gaining new skills, or seeking specialized education to make a career transition. Its mission to strengthen communities through education and opportunity align with PAHO/WHO FCU’s mission of helping people live healthier financial lives.”
As a proud NOVA alumnus, Fuzell credits earning his Career Studies Certificate as the first step toward CPA licensure and a path to leadership. NOVA is one of the largest community college systems in the United States, serving tens of thousands of students across multiple campuses in the Northern Virginia region. The institution plays a critical role in advancing education, workforce development, and community enrichment.
