KETCHIKAN, Alaska–Tongass Federal Credit Union has introduced a Build & Save Matched Savings Program aimed at helping members to turn their savings into a down payment by providing up to $10,000 in matching funds.
According to the $250-million Tongass FCU, the Build & Save Program is for low-income residents in Southeast Alaska.
“When you save toward your down payment, Tongass FCU will match your savings 2-to-1, up to $10,000 toward your future home,” the credit union said.
Applications will remain open until the program is full, TFCU said, adding that the home must be located within its field of membership.
