MSUFCU Desk Drawer Foundation Awards $40K in Grants

EAST LANSING, Mich. — The MSUFCU Desk Drawer Foundation (DDF), the philanthropic arm of MSU Federal Credit Union (MSUFCU), awarded $40,000 in grants to Thrive Scholars, Todd Martin Youth Leadership, and the Woldumar Nature Center.

“The unwavering commitment these nonprofits have to improving lives in our communities is remarkable and inspiring,” said Rebecca Surian, Foundation executive director. “Desk Drawer Foundation grants aim to empower both emerging and established initiatives, ensuring youth-focused programs have the resources to create lasting, transformative change.”

Established in 2019, the Foundation is committed to partnering with donors to empower transformational change to make a sustainable difference in our communities. This mission is advanced through strategic investments in five philanthropic pillars — The Arts, Entrepreneurship, Financial Education, Stable Housing, and Youth Empowerment. The MSUFCU Desk Drawer Foundation Board of Directors approved the following grants to three nonprofit organizations in quarter four of 2025:

  • Thrive Scholars Southeast Michigan ($5,000)
  • Todd Martin Youth Leadership ($5,000)
  • Woldumar Nature Center ($30,000)
