Have Something to Say? Deadlines Approaching for Comment on Several Proposals

WASHINGTON–With NCUA’s Deregulation Project underway, America’s Credit Unions is reminding there is approximately one month remaining in the comment period for the first set of proposals.

America’s Credit Unions noted it issued a Regulatory Comment on three proposals last week that encouraged credit unions to submit comments to the NCUA.

The Deadlines

The deadlines include:

February 9

Comments due on Guidelines for safeguarding member information , which would remove Appendix A to part 748. The agency intends to replace it with guidance. Feedback can be sent to America’s Credit Unions by Jan. 30.

Comments due on  Guidance on response programs for unauthorized access to member information and member notice, which would remove Appendix B to Part 748 and replace it with guidance.

Comments can be sent to America’s Credit Unions by Jan. 30.

February 27

Comments due on Catastrophic act reporting, which would simplify, streamline, and extend the catastrophic act reporting process, including extending the reporting deadline, amending who to report to, and remove the prescriptive list of items that a credit union should include in its internal record.

America’s Credit Unions said the deadline for providing it with comment is Feb. 16.
