BRIGHTON, Mich.—Lake Trust Credit Union has named Drew Jones as government affairs manager. With nearly 15 years of distinguished service in the Michigan Legislature, Jones brings deep institutional knowledge and a proven track record of bipartisan coalition-building to the Lake Trust team, the credit union said.
In this strategic role, Jones will lead advocacy efforts in Lansing and Washington, D.C., working to advance policies that strengthen the credit union movement and support financial wellbeing for members across Michigan.

“Recognized as a trusted strategist, Drew has established himself as a leader in translating complex policy goals into legislative victories,” said David Snodgrass, president and CEO at Lake Trust. “His ability to navigate challenging legislative landscapes and drive impactful policy changes will be invaluable as we continue to empower our communities and advocate for their financial wellbeing.
Prior to joining Lake Trust, Jones served as a senior legislative aide for influential policymakers in the Michigan House of Representatives and State Senate — advancing critical legislation. During his tenure, he successfully navigated multi-layered budget processes to secure vital funding for infrastructure and community development to support long-term economic stability. He also served as a key advisor in the development of economic relief packages that provided critical lifelines to Michigan’s small businesses and restaurants during periods of economic volatility.
“Effective advocacy is about building relationships and finding common ground,” said Jones. “As I step into this new role, I look forward to leveraging the deep networks I’ve fostered in Lansing and Washington D.C. to align our shared visions and uncover new opportunities for collaboration. More importantly, I am honored to serve as a voice for our members and Michiganders at large, advocating for financial stability, consumer protection, and community growth that enable them to thrive.”
