LAS VEGAS — Silver State Schools Credit Union and the UNLV Alumni Association have launched a new affinity debit and credit card program designed to generate financial support for alumni programs through everyday spending.
The “Rebels Forever” Affinity Debit and Credit Card Program will direct contributions to the alumni association each time a cardholder makes a purchase, according to Silver State Schools Credit Union.
Blake Douglas, executive director of the UNLV Alumni Association, said in a statement the partnership is intended to strengthen ties among graduates while supporting the organization’s mission.

Silver State Schools Credit Union, founded in 1951 and focused on serving Southern Nevada’s education community, said the partnership expands its efforts to support local institutions and promote financial engagement.
“This collaboration allows us to celebrate Rebel pride while creating real impact,” SSSCU President and CEO Scott Arkills said in a statement.
Where Funds Will Go
According to the credit union, funds generated through card usage will support alumni events, programming and outreach for the association’s network of more than 155,000 graduates.
The program also aims to promote financial education and responsible credit use, while encouraging ongoing engagement between alumni and the university community.
Consumers can apply for the co-branded cards through the credit union, with participation intended to create what the organizations described as a continuing cycle of giving tied to routine transactions.
