Ocean State CU Introduces Refreshed Brand Logo

COVENTRY, R.I. — Ocean State Credit Union has unveiled a refreshed brand logo it said is inspired by Rhode Island’s coastal heritage, a move the organization said reflects its evolving identity and continued connection to the communities it serves.

According to the $341.8-million Ocean State Credit Union, the new logo incorporates flowing design elements meant to “evoke the motion of the sea and symbolize progress and forward movement.” The design also draws on Rhode Island’s maritime history and includes the state’s official color, Rhode Island Blue, the credit union added.

OSCU said the updated branding is intended to reflect not only geography but also the character of the state’s waterfront cities, historic harbors and local businesses, as well as its member-owned structure.

‘Far More Than Visual Identity’

“Our new logo represents far more than a visual identity,” CEO Michael Garvey said in a statement. “It reflects Rhode Island’s coastal heritage, the strength of our communities, and our commitment to empowering members with greater financial opportunity.”

According to the 22,000-member CU, the rebranding follows a period of growth for the institution, including what it described as becoming the first credit union to establish a member-owned presence in Providence’s historic financial district. The move was cited as part of a broader effort to expand access to community-focused financial services across the state.

Ocean State Credit Union said the refreshed logo also aligns with ongoing investments in digital banking capabilities, service accessibility and flexible financial products aimed at supporting long-term financial well-being.

The Roll Out

The new branding will be rolled out across digital platforms, branch locations and member communications in the coming months, according to the statement.
