alltru CU Offering Free Credit Review Sessions to Members, Non-Members

ST. LOUIS — Alltru Credit Union said it is offering free credit review sessions with trained counselors to help individuals in the Greater St. Louis area better understand and improve their credit, according to the credit union.

The service, available to both members and nonmembers, includes 15-minute sessions in which counselors review factors affecting credit scores and identify practical steps for improvement. Participants may also receive guidance on financial products such as credit-builder loans and debt refinancing options, Alltru said.

“At Alltru, we strive to serve the often underserved in our community,” said Laura Woods, vice president of brand and product strategy. “We understand the impact that a credit score can have on one’s ability to buy a car, get a credit card, or reduce their debt.”

Woods said the initiative is intended to help individuals take control of their financial situations by offering personalized strategies and accessible options.

What Will be Evaluated

According to Alltru, counselors evaluate elements including payment history, credit utilization, account types, balances and any collections or derogatory marks to develop tailored recommendations aimed at improving financial literacy and long-term stability.

The sessions are available by appointment at Alltru’s branch locations in Wentzville, St. Charles, Hazelwood, Florissant and downtown St. Louis, as well as through virtual meetings, the credit union said.
