PenAir CU Launches SnackStock 2026 to Collect Snacks for Cancer Patients

PENSACOLA, Fla.— PenAir Credit Union is officially launching SnackStock 2026, a month-long community initiative dedicated to collecting individually packaged snacks for cancer patients receiving treatment at Ascension Sacred Heart Cancer Center. SnackStock brings together trusted community partners, including Ascension Sacred Heart and the Pensacola Blue Wahoos, to provide comfort and encouragement during long days of care for patients and their families.

The start of this year’s drive was marked by a kickoff event held at Ascension Sacred Heart Cancer Center, highlighting the collective commitment behind SnackStock. Leaders from PenAir Credit Union, Ascension Sacred Heart, and the Pensacola Blue Wahoos came together to emphasize the importance of collaboration, and the impact small acts of generosity can have when multiplied across a caring community.

SnackStock was created to meet a simple but meaningful need. Cancer treatments often involve lengthy appointments, waiting, and uncertainty. They are filled with moments when something as small as a snack can offer comfort and remind patients they are supported. Through SnackStock, community members are invited to take part in a tangible way, transforming everyday generosity into real encouragement for those facing difficult circumstances.

“At PenAir Credit Union, our purpose is to enhance lives, and SnackStock is one way we live that out alongside our partners,” said Lee Morgan, President and CEO of PenAir Credit Union.

Ascension Sacred Heart leaders underscored how initiatives like SnackStock help support the whole person, not just the medical journey, reinforcing the importance of compassion and dignity throughout treatment.

“During treatment, time slows down and patients carry far more than the physical side of their care,” says Zachary Abercrombie, CFO at Ascension Sacred Heart. “ Behind every infusion is a person facing emotional and financial uncertainty, and in those moments, even the smallest acts of kindness can mean everything.”

The Pensacola Blue Wahoos continue to play a key role in raising awareness and rallying community support, using their platform to connect fans, families, and local organizations around a shared mission of care.

“Each day, the Wahoos strive to make memorable experiences,” says Jonathan Grifitth, President of the Pensacola Blue Wahoos. “Being a part of SnackStock gives us another way to do that and show up for those in our community going through a difficult time.”

SnackStock 2026 shows what’s possible when a community comes together. With PenAir Credit Union, Ascension Sacred Heart, and the Pensacola Blue Wahoos helping lead the effort, individuals, families, businesses, and community partners across the region are invited to donate snacks and help surpass this year’s goal of 8,000 snacks for patients in need.

SnackStock 2026 runs throughout the month of May, with donations benefiting cancer patients at Ascension Sacred Heart Cancer Center. Donations can be dropped off at any PenAir location, or at any Wahoos home game during the month of May.
