PHILADELPHIA—As America prepares to officially mark the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, the country’s credit unions—which are as interwoven in the fabric of the U.S. as any organizations—have also been celebrating.

Below is just a partial look at some of what credit unions have been doing in making their own declarations:
Global Credit Union, Alaska
Global CU is the presenting sponsor of Alaska’s Week of Dreams, June 26-July 4, part of America250-Alaska. The state page describes it as celebrating America’s 250th birthday through baseball-themed events.
Frontwave Credit Union, California
Frontwave CU’s “America 250 Offers” campaign includes 2.50% APR balance transfers through Jan. 19, 2028, plus $250 back on qualifying auto loans/refinances of at least $50,000.
SESLOC Credit Union, California
SESLOC CU published a financial education piece, “Celebrate Your Financial Freedom on America’s 250th Anniversary,” tying savings, budgeting and rewards use to the 250th.

Agriculture Federal Credit Union, Washington, D.C.
Agriculture FCU is offering several “America 250 Limited-Time Specials,” including a 250-day certificate at 3.50% APY, $250 minimum.

Tower Federal Credit Union, Maryland
Through its “$250,000 for a Brighter America,” campaign Tower FCU and its TowerCares Foundation are donating $250,000 to charities supporting military heroes, veterans and children; members/public can vote on how $50,000 is allocated.
Northwest Federal Credit Union, Virginia
Northwest FCU has been staging an “America 250” checking/savings promotion, with up to $500 in bonus cash — $250 for a new checking account with direct deposit/debit requirements, plus another $250 for opening qualifying savings or money market with $25,000 new money.
Frankenmuth Credit Union, Michigan
Frankenmuth CU has been running a “Red, White & WIN” America’s 250th birthday giveaway. It has been offering 10 chances to win $250.
Monroe Community Credit Union, Michigan
MCCU is the sponsor of Monroe’s Hometown Heritage: America 250 Celebration on July 8, including Declaration reading, patriotic bell ringing, live music, food trucks, family activities and a 250-drone show.
Vibe Credit Union, Michigan
Vive Credit Union sponsored prizes for Southfield, Mich.’s “We the People” student art and essay contests, part of the city’s America 250 programming.
Lighthouse Credit Union, New Hampshire
LCU is the presenter of Portsmouth’s July 2 Summer Salute: Celebrating 250 Years of American Music at Strawberry Banke Museum. Event also launches the Lighthouse Credit Union Foundation Veterans Fund.
FourLeaf Federal Credit Union, New York
FourLeaf FCU is saluting America’s 250th anniversary in the New York market through an ABC7NY/America250-branded promotional campaign. The campaign features FourLeaf President and CEO Linda Armyn and messaging about bringing history to life with America250.
Heritage Financial Credit Union, New York
Heritage FCU is the presenting sponsor of the Hudson Valley Renegades’ July 2 America 250 Celebration jersey giveaway. The first 1,000 guests receive a Stars & Stripes jersey; event includes fireworks and other Independence Weekend programming.
Propell Credit Union, Pennsylvania
Propell CU is hosting an America 250 Community Celebration and Cornhole Tournament through the Greater West Chester Chamber of Commerce.

Heritage Valley Federal Credit Union, Pennsylvania
HVFCU is conducting social campaign around York, Penn.’s role in history and America’s 250th birthday, including “Our Heritage of Freedom” messaging and a $250 giveaway.

Connexus Credit Union, Wisconsin
Connexus Credit Union is marking America’s 250th anniversary throughout July by hosting a Food Supply Drive as part of its Connexus Cares philanthropic program, with a goal of collecting 250 canned food items to support local food pantries.
America First Credit Union, Utah
America First is backing an America250-branded media/social campaign celebrating 250 years of history and America First’s 87 years serving communities.
Navy Federal Credit Union, Virginia
Navy FCU is a sponsor of America250, and a founding sponsor of America Gives, the national volunteer-service initiative. Navy Federal also partnered with the National Flag Foundation around America’s 250th anniversary.

Blackhawk Community Credit Union, Wisconsin
Blackhawk Community CU is hosting “Liberty, Lunch, & Thanks” branch events with complimentary food-truck lunches, patriotic swag and patriotic basket giveaways at branches from June 25-Aug. 18.
Community Choice Credit Union, MichiganCommunity Choice Credit Union’ hosted a series of “Stars, Stripes, and Stadium Bites” events, which took place at all 23 of its member centers and which were open to credit union members and prospective members.
At each location, the credit union offered 100 free meals on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last. A different food truck was at each location. The lineup of food trucks included Savvy Sliders, the Rolling Stoves and Motor City Street Eats.
Webster First Credit Union, Massachusetts
Webster First Credit Union stepped in as the premier sponsor of the Town of Webster’s annual Independence Day fireworks celebration, helping preserve a longstanding community tradition that was at risk because of budget constraints.
US Community Credit Union, Tennessee
US Community Credit Union is supporting numerous efforts, including the Financial Freedom: America 250 Celebration from June 5-July 18, with branch cookouts; $250 new-member bonus, $250 auto refinance cash offer, 1776 Freedom Certificate, Liberty Bell Certificate, HELOC promo, 2.5x credit card rewards and weekly $250 “Swipe to Win” drawings.

Eglin Federal Credit Union, Florida
Eglin FCU is celebrating America’s 250th birthday with a series of branch celebrations and a summer giveaway that will award cruise vacations to a dozen winners. Eglin FCU said festivities will begin July 1 and July 2 at its branches, where visitors will receive complimentary cookies and patriotic-themed promotional items while supplies last.

Altra Federal Credit Union, Wisconsin
Altra FCU offered new members a $250 bonus when opening a new checking account in branch.
