FREDERICK, Md. — Nymeo Federal Credit Union has entered into a partnership with the National Association of Women Business Owners Greater DC aimed at expanding financial education, networking opportunities and banking resources for women-owned businesses across the region.
According to Nymeo, the partnership includes a sponsorship agreement and is intended to provide women entrepreneurs with educational workshops, financial wellness resources, networking events and access to the credit union’s Business Solutions Bundles, which include business checking, merchant services, treasury management and cash flow products.
The collaboration comes as Nymeo expands its field of membership into additional communities in Maryland, Pennsylvania and West Virginia, the credit union said.
‘Women Shape Economy’
“Women-owned businesses continue to shape and strengthen our communities,” Chief Operations Officer Kristina Morgan said in a statement. “Our partnership with NAWBO Greater DC reflects our commitment to providing entrepreneurs with more than financial products.”
Nymeo said the partnership was initiated by Trish Davies, owner of RM Benefits Retirement Consulting and a longtime member of both Nymeo and NAWBO Greater DC. Davies said she saw a natural fit between the organizations and approached Nymeo Branch Manager Heidi Landaverde about the opportunity.
Landaverde said the partnership will allow the credit union to better understand the needs of women business owners while offering financial solutions tailored to their businesses.

Strong Representation at NCU
Nymeo also noted that women serve in several senior leadership positions within the credit union, including president and CEO, chief operating officer, comptroller, board members and management roles, reflecting what it described as its commitment to supporting women in business.
Denise Sarpong-Johnson, president of NAWBO Greater DC, said the organization has spent more than 50 years connecting women business owners with resources and professional relationships to help them grow.
“Access to capital is only part of the equation—our members want a financial partner who knows their name, their goals, and their market,” Sarpong-Johnson said in a statement. “Nymeo brings both, and we’re proud to grow alongside them.”
Nymeo said the partnership is designed to strengthen local businesses and foster economic development by providing entrepreneurs with financial tools and ongoing support as they expand their operations.
