HARRISON, N.J. — Red Bull New York, which plays in Major League Soccer, has partnered with Financial Resources Federal Credit Union and the nonprofit America’s VetDogs to raise and socialize a future service dog that will eventually be placed with a veteran or first responder with disabilities.
According to Red Bull New York, the club has welcomed a black Labrador retriever named Harrison, who will spend the next 18 months with the organization before entering formal service dog training through America’s VetDogs. The nonprofit provides trained service dogs to veterans and first responders at no cost.
The initiative, presented in partnership with Financial Resources FCU, will allow fans to follow Harrison’s journey from his introduction to the club through his eventual graduation and placement with a recipient, Red Bull New York said.

“This program builds on Red Bull New York’s longstanding commitment to serving our community and honors a group that deserves our unwavering support—our nation’s veterans,” Marc de Grandpré, president and general manager of Red Bull New York, said in a statement. “We have a responsibility to use our platform, our stadium, and the passion of our fans to create meaningful impact beyond the game.”
Financial Resources FCU has approximately 31,000 members.
Red Bull New York has competed in Major League Soccer since the league’s inaugural season in 1996 and plays its home matches at Sports Illustrated Stadium in Harrison, N.J.
