Southern Energy CU Plans for New Branch In Auburn, AL

AUBURN, Ala.– Southern Energy Credit Union said it is expanding into the Auburn-Opelika market with the purchase of property at 2085 East University Drive in Auburn.

Expected to open this fall, the site will become Southern Energy’s first full-service branch in the Auburn-Opelika area. This investment marks an important milestone in the Credit Union’s continued growth and commitment to serving members throughout Alabama, Georgia and Mississippi.

The expansion follows years of interest from members in the area and reflects the credit union’s ongoing commitment to strategically investing in communities where members live, work and attend school.

“For years, many of our members have told us they’d love to see Southern Energy Credit Union in the Auburn-Opelika area,” said Andy Rush, president and CEO of Southern Energy Credit Union. “We’re excited to share that we’re making it happen. Auburn and Opelika continue to experience tremendous growth, and establishing a presence here allows us to better serve current members while introducing Southern Energy to eligible individuals and families throughout the region.”

As membership continues to grow, Southern Energy is focusing its expansion efforts on locations that enhance accessibility and convenience for members.

“We’re growing thoughtfully,” Rush said. “This new branch represents a meaningful investment in the Auburn-Opelika community and supports our long-term vision for serving members across our footprint.”

The Auburn branch will operate as a full-service financial center, providing members with convenient access to personalized financial services. The location will also feature a drive-thru ATM/Interactive Teller Machine (ITM), providing expanded access and extended service options for members on the go.

Located along one of Auburn’s primary commercial corridors, the property will undergo renovations and updates in preparation for opening this fall.
