CORVALLIS, Ore. — Benton County Schools Credit Union and the Corvallis Public Schools Foundation have launched a new grant program to help educators cover expenses associated with moving into new assignments during the 2026-27 school year.
The Staff Resource Grants program will provide eligible staff members with grants of up to $500 for classroom supplies, materials and other resources needed as they transition into new roles, according to Benton County Schools Credit Union.
Applications are being accepted on a rolling basis throughout the school year, with grants to be awarded monthly.
The $69-million credit union said the program was developed in response to school closures and staff reassignments that may require educators to move into unfamiliar classrooms, grade levels, programs or other responsibilities.
‘Unexpected Expenses’
Those changes can create unexpected out-of-pocket expenses for educators as they prepare classrooms and obtain materials for their new assignments, the credit union said.
“Our educators are navigating significant changes while continuing to put students first,” Angela Hibbard, executive director of the Corvallis Public Schools Foundation, said in a statement. “These grants are a practical way to help educators feel prepared and supported as they step into new assignments.”
Hibbard said the foundation is thankful for Benton County Schools Credit Union’s partnership and its commitment to supporting local educators and schools.
“Educators should not have to shoulder every cost that comes with starting in a new role,” Amanda Held, president and CEO of Benton County Schools Credit Union, said in a statement.
Central to Mission
Held said supporting educators is central to the credit union’s mission and that the partnership with the foundation is intended to make the transition into new assignments easier for school employees.
