CARSON CITY, Nev.–Utah-based America First Federal Credit Union and Greater Nevada Credit Union said they are seeking to merge.
The combined organization will serve more than 1.6 million members through 135 branch locations, including 39 in Nevada, with more than $26 billion in assets. The merger is subject to customary regulatory requirements and approvals and is expected to be completed in late 2026, the organizations said

If the merger is approved, plans call for GNCU to operate as Greater Nevada: A Division of America First Credit Union. All Greater Nevada branches will remain open and staffed by current employees, Greater Nevada CU said.
Founded in 1949, Greater Nevada has $1.68 billion in assets and approximately 90,000 members. It had $6.2 million in mid-year net income and net worth of 3.5% and a risk-based net worth ratio of 8.61% as of its June 5300. America First FCU, based in Riverdale, Utah, has $26-billion in assets and approximately 1.58 million members. It had $222.9 million in mid-year net income, with net worth ratio of 11.8%.

“Our mission has always been to improve the financial well-being of our members and strengthen the communities we serve,” Greater Nevada Credit Union President and CEO Danny DeLaRosa said in a statement. “Joining America First allows us to build on that mission by expanding opportunities for our members while preserving the local access and personal relationships that have always defined Greater Nevada.”
