TUCSON, Ariz. — Tucson Federal Credit Union is reporting the average monthly participation in a six-month member rewards campaign rose about 18% from a year earlier, even as the credit union sent fewer promotional emails about it.
An average of 4,693 eligible members participated each month in the TFCU Challenge, which ran from January through June, compared with 3,977 in 2025, according to the credit union. Members could qualify by maintaining an active account, enrolling in online banking and completing debit card and Zelle transactions.

The $1-billion Tucson Federal said it promoted the campaign through branch digital signs, its website and social media as well as email.
“We made a conscious decision to focus on relevance over volume because our members deserve information that is useful, timely, and meaningful to their lives,” Chief Operating Officer Krystal Adams said in the credit union’s announcement. She said the participation increase suggested its outreach was helping build stronger relationships with members.
The Results
The credit union reported several results from other promotions in June:
- Emails supporting Concert Connections ticket giveaways for upcoming shows at AVA Amphitheater generated 855 raffle submissions.
- Targeted messages about Tucson Federal Insurance Agency’s auto insurance offerings contributed to 36 policy sales.
- Campaigns promoting personal financial coaching, a home renovation loan offer and the FastCash loan program met or exceeded industry benchmarks for email opens and clicks relative to opens, according to the credit union. It did not identify the benchmarks or provide the individual campaign rates.
Tucson Federal said it plans to continue its approach of fewer, more targeted messages across multiple channels in the second half of 2026, with a focus on consumer lending, insurance and financial coaching.
