FALKIN, a Provider of Scam Prevention Tools, Wins Reseda Group’s Startup Pitch Competition

EAST LANSING, Mich. — FALKIN, a company that offers scam prevention tools through banking apps, won a $20,000 grant in Reseda Group’s Startup Pitch Competition at its 2026 summit in Detroit, the company announced.

FALKIN was one of five fintech startups competing at the two-day event. The other finalists were Donevia, Merble, Voyager AI and Kintera AI, according to Reseda Group.

FALKIN says its tools help credit unions, banks and other financial companies identify possible scams before customers make payments. Users can check suspicious messages, calls, payment requests and online listings, while other features are designed to warn them about dangerous websites and messages. The company says its platform works alongside financial institutions’ existing fraud programs.

Stress, Emotional Harm

“Scams aren’t just about losing money but also the stress, inconvenience, and emotional harm that follows,” said Joel Frisch, FALKIN’s co-founder and chief operating officer.

Reseda Group said nearly 200 fintech founders, financial institution executives, board members and credit union leaders attended the summit. The event also included demonstrations and breakout sessions, with a keynote by Erica Pilon, vice president and head of corporate strategy at Jack Henry.

Reseda Group is a wholly owned credit union service organization of MSU Federal Credit Union. It said the summit will return to Detroit Sept. 15-16, 2027.
