TEMPLE, Texas – Texell Credit Union received the 2026 Large Business of the Year Award by the Greater Killeen Chamber of Commerce.
The award is given to a large business that has had a sustained positive impact on the community and the Greater Killeen Chamber of Commerce. Texell Credit Union has contributed greatly of their time and talents to many of the programs and events benefitting the Chamber and the greater Killeen area.

Texell recently remodeled the Killeen branch to better serve members, and employees frequently volunteer at charities throughout Central Texas as part of the credit union’s philanthropic efforts, Texell Serves Foundation. Texell ranked 29th nationally in the Best Credit Unions to Work For by American Banker last month, marking the sixth time Texell has earned a spot among the top 50. Winners are selected based on surveys from the Best Companies Group that examine benefits, workplace policies, engagement, and overall employee satisfaction.
Texell consistently earns the distinguished five-star rating from Bauer Financial, the highest rating attainable and evidence of the commitment to financial strength and stability. In past years, the credit union received “Best Credit Union/Best Bank” awards by readers of the Temple Daily Telegram, Killeen Daily Herald, the Belton Journal, and Telemundo Central Texas.
