GTE Financial Names 3 People to New Posts

TAMPA, Fla. —  GTE Financial has appointed Gary Ringuette as Managing Director of Finance & Accounting, Adam Knowles as Assistant Vice President of Finance, and John Lemus as Assistant Vice President of Staff Accounting.

The appointments strengthen a team responsible for supporting GTE’s financial operations, long-term stability and continued ability to deliver value to its members and the Tampa Bay community, the credit union said.

“Gary, Adam and John each bring valuable experience and a deep understanding of GTE to their expanded leadership roles,” said Brad Baker, EVP and Chief Financial Officer at GTE Financial. “Their expertise across finance, accounting and long-term financial planning will help ensure we continue to make sound decisions, maintain a strong financial foundation and responsibly grow in ways that allow us to better serve our members and the communities we call home.”

Ringuette brings more than 20 years of experience at GTE Financial to his expanded leadership role. He joined the credit union in 2006 as a cost accountant and has since taken on increasing responsibilities across budgeting, profitability, loan and deposit rate recommendations, secondary market activities and asset-liability management. As Managing Director of Finance & Accounting, Ringuette oversees financial reporting, annual budgeting, profitability and financial analytics while working closely with GTE’s lending teams on interest rate strategy and loan origination activities.

Knowles’ appointment as Assistant Vice President of Finance marks the latest step in a 13-year career with GTE Financial. He joined the credit union in 2013 as a Student Relationship Officer while completing his undergraduate degree in finance at the University of South Florida. He later transitioned to GTE’s Assurance and Consulting team before moving into Treasury, where he advanced from Financial Analyst to Senior Financial Analyst and now Assistant Vice President of Finance.

In his new role, Knowles oversees GTE’s annual budgeting process, recurring asset-liability management modeling, liquidity stress testing and portfolio analytics. He also works closely with the Capital Markets team and finance and accounting leadership to help ensure operational decisions align with the credit union’s long-term capital stability.

Lemus steps into the role of Assistant Vice President of Staff Accounting with a background in accounting and financial reporting. In his role, he supports GTE’s financial reporting process, ensures compliance with accounting standards and helps maintain accurate financial records while working with departments across the organization. His work also focuses on maintaining strong controls and supporting the overall financial health of the credit union.

Together, the appointments reflect GTE Financial’s continued focus on building strong internal leadership and maintaining the financial foundation needed to grow responsibly, support its members and invest in the communities it serves.
