BETTENDORF, Iowa–A former employee of IH Mississippi Valley Credit Union is facing multiple felony and misdemeanor charges after authorities alleged she stole more than $28,000 from seven accounts, including six belonging to deceased members.
According to KWQC, Amanda N. Tincher, 38, of Davenport, Iowa, is accused of making unauthorized withdrawals, transferring funds to her personal Cash App account and issuing cashier’s checks in her own name.

Court documents cited by KWQC indicate Tincher allegedly stole a total of $28,326.28 from the seven accounts.
Suspicious Transactions Reported by Credit Union
The investigation began July 2 when an IH Mississippi Valley Credit Union official contacted Bettendorf police about suspicious transactions involving the account of a deceased member, KWQC reported.
According to court documents, investigators determined Tincher had allegedly conducted multiple unauthorized transactions involving the account, including:
- Making cash withdrawals.
- Creating cashier’s checks payable to herself.
- Transferring funds to a Cash App account in her name.
Police said the transactions involving that account totaled $21,279.51.
On July 3, investigators interviewed Tincher at the credit union about the suspicious activity.
According to KWQC, Tincher allegedly told investigators, “It’s pretty clear what was done,” when questioned about the transactions.
Although Tincher denied taking money from other accounts, a subsequent review by the credit union uncovered six additional accounts involving similar suspicious activity, according to court documents.
Allegedly Used Another Account to Conceal Theft
Investigators determined six of the seven affected accounts belonged to deceased individuals, while the seventh belonged to a living member.
According to police, Tincher allegedly transferred money from the living member’s account into an account belonging to a deceased member to conceal an earlier theft after beneficiaries discovered funds were missing.
Authorities said the total amount allegedly stolen across all seven accounts was $28,326.28.

According to KWQC, Tincher faces the following charges:
- First-degree theft, a felony.
