TAMPA, Fla.–GTE Financial has launched “Cash Academy,” which it said is a new and improved financial education initiative designed to equip teens and young adults with the “skills they need to build a strong financial future.”
According to GTE Financial, the interactive, on-demand program is part of the credit union’s ongoing commitment to support financial literacy in the Tampa Bay community.
“Cash Academy guides parents and young adults through key financial concepts such as budgeting, understanding credit and debit, goal setting, and making smart saving and spending decisions,” GTE Financial said. “The program is easily accessible online and allows students to learn at their own pace in an engaging and practical format.”

$50 Reward
To encourage participation and “celebrate the achievements of young learners,” GTE Financial said it is offering a $50 reward to participants who complete the Cash Academy course and open a new Go Student Checking Account. In addition, students who complete the program are being invited to share their personal stories about their financial journey for a chance to win a $2,090 graduation shopping spree in honor of their 90th anniversary celebration, the credit union said.
“Cash Academy is more than just a learning tool; it’s a way to spark real conversations and confidence around money,” SVP-Chief Marketing Officer Jennifer Maxfield said in a statement. “We believe that by providing youth with accessible and meaningful financial education, we’re setting them up for lifelong success and empowering the next generation of smart, informed consumers.”
