Achieva CU Achieves ‘Juntos Avanzamos’ Designation from Inclusiv

DUNEDIN, Fla.— Achieva Credit Union has earned the “Juntos Avanzamos” (Together We Advance) accreditation from Inclusiv.

The credit union reported it received the honor after more than five years of work to meet requirements, including Spanish-language services, financial education programs and accessible lending to immigrants. 

That includes more than $4.3 million in loans to non-U.S. citizens in the past year, the Tampa Beacon. 

‘In the Right Direction’

“This recognition is a testament to the fact that we are working in the right direction to better serve the Hispanic community,” María Campos, a multicultural consultant at Achieva through her company Elevate 7, said in a statement to the Beacon. “Financial education is key to opening doors, and this achievement allows us to continue offering access to tools that can change lives.

Achieva CU held a  cultural presentation that featured students from Da Vinci Charter Academy, who performed dances symbolizing the Hispanic community’s spirit of overcoming challenges.

According to the Beacon, currently, 25% of Achieva employees are bilingual.

“This achievement represents a real commitment to continue offering financial education and the necessary resources for Hispanic families to achieve their economic goals,” Campos said in a statement.

Focus on Financial Ed

Achieva reported it has also focused on financial education as an integration tool for the rapidly growing local Hispanic community.

“We are seeing cases of individuals improving their finances and also venturing into the world of entrepreneurship, contributing to local development,” Campos told the publication.
