TOLEDO, Ohio–Directions Credit Union is rewarding its young members for reading over the summer.
The $1.3-billion Directions CU is again running its Rewards for Reading program, which it said is designed to encourage young readers and support local libraries.
According to Directions, any member age 18 or younger who participates in the library’s summer reading program can bring their completed reading chart or book tracker to any branch. In return, the member will receive a $5 deposit into their Youth Savings Account.
This year, Directions Credit Union said it is also giving back by donating a total of $21,000 to summer reading programs across the communities it serves.
Directions CU has more than 94,000 members.
