And the Latest Scam to be Warning Members About is…

DENVER–Here is another scam for credit unions to warn their members about.

Police in Denver and elsewhere said they have been encountering a payments scam where fraudsters put fraudulent QR codes on signs, poles, and parking meters. The QR codes direct folks to a fake parking payment website where the suspects are seeking personal and credit card information. The Denver police said they are currently investigating just such a scam that involves multiple victims.

According to police, Denver’s Department of Transportation and Infrastructure has removed most of the fraudulent stickers, but people are being warned the scam could easily reappear.
