NCUA to Host Virtual Strategic Plan Town Hall Today

ALEXANDRIA, Va.–NCUA will host a Strategic Plan Town Hall today at which it said credit union industry stakeholders will have the opportunity to provide input on the agency’s strategic plan, as well as other upcoming priorities.

The town hall will begin at 2 p.m. ET. NCUA said the event is closed to the press but it said it is sharing an embargoed list of discussion topics with all registered participants.

“This town hall is an opportunity to bring the entities we insure and regulate into our strategic planning process” Chairman Kyle Hauptman said in a statement when the town hall was announced “We understand that input from diverse sets of stakeholders is essential to supporting our work to ensure the safety and soundness of credit unions and to this new chapter for the NCUA. Credit unions and industry should tell us what they would change about NCUA’s last strategic plan, provide ideas on how the NCUA can strengthen credit unions and lessen burdensome rules, and give us feedback on the issues they foresee for the credit union system in coming years.”

Moderated Discussion

NCUA said today’s discussion will be a moderated virtual discussion open to credit unions, credit union service organizations, leagues, and industry trades.

Participants must register in advance and are encouraged to submit Strategic Plan-related discussion topics via the town hall registration form, NCUA said.

It added registrants also have the option to submit comments to AskNCUA.
