WICHITA, Kan.–Meritrust Credit Union said it has entered into a multi-year partnership with local nonprofit Empower that will include donating a a total of $250,000 over the next three years to help facilitate the continuation of the “Empower Save, Match, Grow” program.
“This program is uniquely designed to help educate residents on financial principles that can transform their lives,” Meritrust CU said.

In addition to this financial contribution, the $2.1-billion Meritrust said it will also donate teaching resources from its dedicated Financial Well-Being team to assist with programming needs in support of Save, Match, Grow.
Advancing the Mission
“We are grateful for the work Empower does in our community, and we are proud to help advance the mission of the Save, Match, Grow program,” Meritrust Co-CEO, James Nastars said in a statement. “This program empowers participants to take charge of their finances and gives them tools to gain lasting financial confidence.”
“This financial contribution will go a long way towards furthering the Save, Match, Grow mission,” Ariel Rodriguez, Executive director of Empower, added in a statement. “The contribution of the time and talent of the Financial Well-Being employees from Meritrust also helps build community relationships, which is what both Empower and Meritrust is all about.”
Empower exists to provide educational, workforce-readiness and small business development resources to the residents of Nomar in Wichita.
Meritrust CU is currently in the process of merging with Colorado-based Premier Members Credit Union.
