Sikorsky CU Hosts Back to School Drives

STRATFORD, Conn.–Sikorsky Credit Union hosted Back to School Drives in its branches to collect school supplies for local children in need.

While the start of a new school year is an exciting time, many families face financial challenges in preparing their children for the classroom. To help ease this burden, Sikorsky Credit Union said it invited members and employees to donate school supplies throughout the summer. The donations were distributed to community partners including the Boys & Girls Club of Lower Naugatuck Valley, McGivney Center, Boys & Girls Club of Milford, Hall Neighborhood House, Sterling Community Center, and the Community Action Agency of Western CT.

“Every child deserves the chance to start the school year ready to learn and grow, and we’re proud to help make that possible,” said Whitney Cadett, Vice President of Marketing and Strategic Growth at Sikorsky Credit Union. “Thanks to the generosity of our members and employees, kids across our communities are starting the school year feeling prepared, supported, and excited.”

Amanda Meeson, Executive Director of the Sterling Community Center was grateful for the school supplies and shared, “Fresh crayons and sharpened pencils are so important to kids feeling ready and excited to go back to school each year. Thank you to Sikorsky Credit Union for their donation to help prepare our Stratford students!”
