WASHINGTON–A financial inclusion initiative at the OCC that had been called Project REACh (Roundtable for Economic Access and Change) will be moved under the umbrella of the Office of External Relationships and Strategic Partnerships, according to the OCC.

Rodney Hood, the former chairman of the NCUA board who is now the acting comptroller at the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), told a meeting held by the National Community Reinvestment Coalition (NCRC) that a “restructuring” is underway at the OCC that includes creation of the “new” office, which he said will be led by Andrew Moss, Hood’s acting chief of staff and OCC’s National Director for Project REACh (a title Moss has held previously and in tandem with director of Minority Outreach).
“Andrew will be responsible for developing our comprehensive financial inclusion strategy,” Hood said in his prepared remarks. “This office will also engage with critical external stakeholders to identify economic barriers, build partnerships, promote education, and encourage responsible innovation to foster increased inclusion in the federal banking system.”
