American Heritage Completes 3rd Annual Mentorship Program for Employees

PHILADELPHIA–American Heritage Credit Union is reporting it recently completed its 3rd annual Mentorship Program, which seeks to provide associates of all levels an opportunity to network, develop additional skills, and benefit from the experience and interaction of another associate.

The Mentorship Program takes place over the course of a year and pairs a senior leader from American Heritage with a protégé, the credit union said.

“The duo meets throughout the year, allowing the newer associate to benefit both professionally and personally from their partner’s experience and background within American Heritage. Career advancement and development is a major area of focus within the Mentorship Program,” AHCU explained.

In total, 7 associates participated in this year’s Program and were paired with a more senior associate.

‘Grow Immensely’

“The Mentorship Program has helped me grow immensely over the past year, both personally and professionally,” Membership Marketing Coordinator Anna Laquintano,, a recent graduate of the Mentorship Program, said in a statement. “After every session, I felt like I had walked away with some type of challenge or takeaway for myself which only enhanced my skillset. I am really grateful for the relationship I had working with my mentor throughout the program. I really could not recommend it more to any associate who is looking for additional opportunities to learn, grow their confidence, and enhance their current skillset.”

Development Opportunities

The $5-billion American Heritage continually seeks ways to provide educational and developmental opportunities for associates of all levels.

Alongside the Mentorship Program, the credit union said it also offers annual trainings in associates’ areas of expertise and various committees which associates can join. Volunteerism is also a major area of focus, with associates having the opportunity to volunteer for various community events throughout the year, AHCU added.

‘Deepened Our Commitment’

“American Heritage’s formal Mentorship Program, which launched in 2023, has deepened our commitment to providing associates with channels and outlets for personal and professional growth,” Chief HR Officer Kristine Belser said in a statement. “The experiences, knowledge, wisdom, skills, leadership, and creativity shared between a mentor and protégé are invaluable to associates seeking engagement, purpose, meaning, and belonging. It is arguably one of our most successful programs and one that I am very proud to offer.”
