WASHINGTON — America’s Credit Unions is backing a new multi-media campaign highlighting Rep. Don Davis’ (NC-1) efforts to support affordable financial services for service members and constituents.
“Rep. Don Davis has led the fight on key issues that affect North Carolinians’ daily lives,” America’s Credit Unions Head of Political Affairs Trey Hawkins said in a statement. “In the U.S. House, Rep. Davis has protected consumers from fraud, and fought for affordability, especially for service members, veterans and first responders. Ensuring Americans can achieve their financial goals is a priority for credit unions and America’s Credit Unions is proud to highlight Rep. Don Davis’ efforts. We urge him to keep fighting for financial freedom for all.”

CU-Backed Candidates Win Races
Separately, in primary elections across three states Tuesday, five Congressional candidates backed by America’s Credit Unions PAC won their party nomination and advanced to November’s general election, the trade group said.
This includes a victory for a candidate running in an open seat.
“Electing a pro-credit union Congress is critical to the credit union movement and is the central mission of America’s Credit Unions PAC. With this additional group of champions advancing, our success is a testament to the strength of credit unions,” Hawkins said in a statement. “Credit unions continue to showcase the power of cooperative finance in districts across the country. America’s Credit Unions PAC is committed to ensuring elected officials recognize and understand the credit union difference.”
Where Candidates Won
America’s Credit Unions said its PAC-supported candidates won in Alabama and Oklahoma. This includes current Alabama Rep. Barry Moore, R, who is running for an open seat in the Senate as current Sen. Tommy Tuberville has earned the Republican nomination for Governor of Alabama.
