BEAUMONT, Texas —To mark Women’s History Month, the all-female team that runs Beaumont Community Credit Union was profiled by 12NewsNow.
According to the report, while founded in 1958, for more than 21 years the $31.1-million CU has been powered entirely by an all-women team.
“We just come in every day and do our work, you know, and we work good together because we work as a team,” Trellis Angelle, senior loan officer, told 12NewsNow.

Melissa Horn, the credit union’s vice president, added, “We’ve all worked together for so many years that we are like a little family, and we look out for each other.”
How Journey Began
According to 12 News Now, Horn said her journey in finance began with humble beginnings, and she worked her way up through dedication and perseverance.
“I was probably 20 years old back in the day, and I was hired at another credit union to be their shred girl, and I just learned over the years and just kept advancing,” Horn told the news outlet.
Staff at the CU said they are committed to helping the community navigate their financial options.
‘What It’s All About’
“That’s what it’s all about, being able to help someone get their finances to where they can maybe buy things that they couldn’t in the beginning,” Angelle was quoted as saying.
Angelle, who has been with Beaumont Community Credit Union for 24 years, credits a mentor for helping her break into the financial industry, according to 12 News Now.
“I had a member that worked here, and she said that if an opening came, she would recommend me, and that’s how I got here into financing,” Angelle said. “If you like helping people, this is a great place to start.”
