WASHINGTON–The Defense Credit Union Council (DCUC) has opened registration for its Annual Conference, taking place July 28 – August 1 at the JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort & Spa in Palm Desert, Calif.
“As the only conference that brings the Department of Defense (DoD)/Military perspective to credit union issues, DCUC’s Annual Conference offers an unparalleled opportunity to connect with credit union leaders dedicated to serving the financial needs of military and veteran communities,” DCUC said.
According to the Defense Council, attendees will gain exclusive insights through expert-led sessions, network with industry peers and decision-makers, explore the latest innovations from corporate sponsors, and contribute to meaningful causes through DCUC’s Conference with a Purpose fundraiser.

‘Unique Experience’
“This event continues to offer our members a truly unique experience unlike any other within this industry,” President/CEO Anthony Hernandez said in a statement. “We are proud of our tradition of gathering to support and advance the financial well-being of our military, veterans, and their families.”
In addition to dynamic sessions, this year’s event features DCUC’s Annual VADM Vincent Lascara Golf Tournament, unique guest packages and tours, and lively networking events that foster real collaboration, the Defense Council said.

Canvas CU Joins DCUC
Separately, the Defense Credit Union Council (DCUC) has added Colorado-based Canvas Credit Union as its newest affiliate member.
Originally founded in 1938 as Public Service Employees Credit Union, it rebranded to Canvas in 2018 and now has more than 300,000 members.
According to DCUC, Canvas is guided by five core values: prioritizing people, leading with heart, offering user-friendly experiences, being a community leader and becoming a trusted name in the areas it serves.
“Veterans, active-duty service members and their families face unique challenges, and we’re committed to supporting them—both during their service and as they transition to civilian life,” Chad Shane, CEO at Canvas Credit Union, said in a statement. “We are honored to partner with DCUC so we can be a resource and advocate for those who serve.
‘Very Excited’
“We are very excited to welcome Canvas Credit Union to DCUC’s membership,” Hernandez added in a statement. “Canvas brings a strong legacy of service, innovation, and community that aligns perfectly with our mission. We look forward to supporting their efforts as they expand their impact within their military and veteran communities.”
