First Harvest CU Hosts Bring Your Children to Work Day

DEPTFORD, N.J.–First Harvest Credit Union hosted the children of its employees during the 2025 Bring Your Child to Work Day held at the First Harvest Corporate Center.

A group of 24 children joined credit union employees for this year’s theme, “For a New Generation,” with the goal of connecting kids with role models in various fields to gain insight and explore possible future career endeavors, the credit union said.

“Throughout the day, credit union volunteers educated the children on the importance of credit unions, how they operate, the unique role they play in our country’s financial system, and led tours of the Corporate Center departments and the Deptford Branch location,” according to First Harvest. “The Deptford Township Police Department and Deptford Fire Department also stopped by to teach the kids about their careers and how they serve the local community. The participants also learned about online safety and security from the credit union’s IT department.”

At the end the activity-filled day, the kids also got a chance to carry out the credit union’s “people helping people” philosophy by creating personalized cards for local pediatric hospital patients and healthcare workers. These cards will be delivered to the Unforgotten Haven to support Nico’s Power Up Packs benefitting pediatric patients and will be included in First Harvest’s upcoming healthcare appreciation snack bag deliveries.

“We believe Bring Your Child to Work Day is not just a day off from school, but a powerful opportunity to shape young minds and offer a glimpse into what their future careers could be,” President and CEO Mike Dinneen said in a statement. “We are appreciative of our First Harvest employee volunteers and our local first responders for helping to make our event engaging, educational, inspiring, and fun for all the children in attendance.”
