First Harvest CU Recognized for Community Initiatives

DEPTFORD, N.J.–First Harvest Credit Union  has been  regionally recognized by South Jersey Biz for its ongoing social commitments and community initiatives, which it said benefit the credit union’s 46,000+ members and the greater  Southern New Jersey region.

The Community Impact Awards are awarded annually to recognize local organizations that go above and beyond to help their neighbors in need and make a  positive impact on the community. This year, the awards highlighted the commendable  efforts of 15 organizations throughout the region whose community efforts range from  accessible medical services and youth programs to uplifting women and underserved  communities throughout Southern New Jersey.

First Harvest was recognized for its co-sponsored New Jersey Credit Union Food  Cooperative, employee-led Charitable Journey Program, and ongoing 85th Anniversary  giveback initiatives, which directly benefit the counties and communities First Harvest  serves.

“Credit unions inherently exist to serve the underserved by offering quality and accessible financial solutions and by delivering on our strong social commitments,” President and CEO Mike Dinneen said in a statement. “Our team members embody the credit union  philosophy of people helping people through our employee volunteerism, credit union  cooperatives, and growing community partnership programs. I am proud of the dedication  our First Harvest family has to positively impact the lives of our members and Southern  New Jersey neighbors. Congratulations to all of our fellow Community Impact Award  winners this year.”
